Helsinki Regatta was sailed on Saturday in light wind and sunny weather. On Sunday a rain front with hard wind had reached Helsinki from South-West and caused some issues to the organizers. Of six planned races on three different courses only two races were sailed. The 80 photos are from the dinghy course with 505, 470, Snipe, Finn, Laser Standard, Europe and Laser radial dinghies.   Older Helsinki Regatta photos: 2012, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007.

Hi all fans and friends of Sailpix. Today, 19th of June 2014, is Sailpix 10 years anniversary. Queen Christina Nations Cup organized by Esbo Segelförening in 2004 was the first race sailing photography session which I count to my systematic photographing of race sailing. The Melges 24 Finnish National Champion 2014 is "Lenny" EST790 helmed by Tonu Toniste. Lenny won five races of eight and ended at 10 points followed by "Fundanything.com" with 16 points and at third place "Navy Sailing" with 18 points. Photographs are from Saturday first and second race in good wind where the downwind speed of the boats got at it's best up to 18 knots.  Really sorry I didn't get photos of "Lenny - the winner" in downwind action. Audi Dinghy Regatta organized by Hangö Segelförening in the most southern city of Finland. For the Laser 4,7 class the planned National Championship status was cancelled because of too few registered sailors. So for all classes including also Laser standard, Laser radial, Europe, and Zoom it was a normal ranking regatta. Totally 58 dinghy sailors […]
Audi Dinghy Regatta organized by Hangö Segelförening in the most southern city of Finland. For the Laser 4,7 class the planned National Championship status was cancelled because of too few registered sailors. So for all classes including also Laser standard, Laser radial, Europe, and Zoom it was a normal ranking regatta. Totally 58 dinghy sailors were sailing two days in light wind and weather varying between sunny and cloudy. The 154 photos are from Saturday two first races.

Sailpix first time out in spring 2014. Sun and good wind at seasons first NJK junior regatta. Check the 60 photos of the Laser and 29er classes from Sunday two last races. Results on the NJK webpage. Because of the mother's day not early enough out at the race course, so totally missed photographing the Europe class. All I got is some shaky video when testing the new video camera. Sorry for that E-guys, must get you later this season.
