The first day at the Nordic Folkboat Finnish Championship started in heavy sea mist. Practical visibility was less than 200 meters, so first time ever I had to start by driving my RIB to the organizers (NJK) harbour and ask where the boats are. Luckily one Race Committee motor boat with Pata and Robbie happened to be there so the first photo is taken when I'm following them to the Folkboat fleet which is moving together with the start boat out to the race area. This year the Espoo-Suursaari offshore race was replaced by Helsinki Two Star Bengtskär Runt. I went there adventuring in the middle of the night with my 4,9 meter RIB. I read notes from the different two handed teams who attended the race and, whoa, it was challenging for me too. Sinebrychoff Challenge had after many years a new defender of the trophy. MayBe VI had the previous year beated Sara af Hangö. First time in the new history of this race the qualification race could not be sailed before the lunch because of the fog. The race committee decided that the challenger will be the winner of a single race after the lunch.
