Winner of the bigger ORC A class was Tea Ekengren / Swan 45 “Blue Nights”, followed by Vesa Särkikangas / Sinergia 40 “Adela” and Jani Lehti / Next 37 “Mercedes-AMG”. Traditional windward leeward race organized by Helsingfors Segelklubb (HSK) sailed in light wind and clear sunshine. Winner of the bigger ORC A class was Tea Ekengren / Swan 45 "Blue Nights", followed by Vesa Särkikangas / Sinergia 40 "Adela" and Jani Lehti / Next 37 "Mercedes-AMG". Second year for the Krångel Star Challenge organized by Ekenäs Segelsällskap (ESS). 10 boats sailed 9 races in excellent conditions with light to medium breeze. Second year for the Krångel Star Challenge organized by Ekenäs Segelsällskap (ESS). 10 boats sailed 9 races in excellent conditions with light to medium breeze. The Classic winner (over all 6th place) was Anders Hedman & Kustaa Lahtinen with Old Gipsy (FIN 4378) an Old Greenwich built boat from 1961. The over all winner was Stefan Winqvist and Olle Tötterman (FIN 8073, Courage). 4 Classic boats participated. Special thanks to Ken Thilman for the boat ride during photographing.

Foiling Center, Helsinki

In autumn 2016 the Foiling Center with it's base at Helsingfors Segelklubb (HSK) received their first foiling boat, a Nacra 20 FCS Carbon. It is the absolute top model in Nacra's catamaran series. The coming summer 2017 the center will receive a semi-foiling Nacra 15, which is designed for youth sailors. The Nacra 15 will be rebuilt to a fully foiling model during the summer 2017. Lauttasaaren leijalautailijat organized an open kiteboarding trick training on the 9th of August 2016. The tricks were registered from the shore and are listed on their webpage. This was a good opportunity for photographing in the water with drysuit, diving flippers, floating vest on and the camera in a watertight bag. First photos in the slideshow are taken from the shore, but after about one third the photos are taken swimming or floating in the water.
