Hanko Regatta 2017

After a 3 week windy period it was time again for Finland’s greatest annual race sailing regatta in Hanko. Not so much actionful photos in the mix of 76 sailing photos, but the better feeling on the pier. Kitesurfers in Hanko

There has not been too many opportunities for good windsurfing in warm and sunny weather in Hanko this summer. I was lucky to be out behind The House Of The Four Winds today and was able to catch some of these sporty guys, who are living at the shoreline for the most time of the year.

Audi Open Dragon Nordic Championships 2015, HSF

On the first day the wind in Hanko was too strong and gusty. On the second day the light and unstable wind allowed only one race, but on Thursday, the third day at the Audi Open Dragon Nordic Championships, the wind was near prefect. After totally five sailed races the Jouko Lindgren with his crew secured his championship. See full results at the HSF webpage.

Restoration of 6mR Renata, part III

Visited Peter Granström at Tammisaaren Veneveistämö for the third time to follow up with progress of restoration of the 6mR Renata. At the moment the hull looks like a skeleton, which is getting a new spine as the new keel stock and stem are being installed. A lot of caution is also set in restoring the original shape of the hull as it has changed during its long life since 1927. The original drawings have been compared to the 3D […]

Restoration of 6mR Renata, part II

The restoration of 6mR yacht Renata continues at Ekenäs Båtvarv. The hull has been measured with high precision and compared to the original drawings. Boat builder Peter Granström has now made the first parts of new wood from Touchwood BV in the Netherlands. These are the parts that form the lengthwise shape of the hull, so the precision and connection angles between the parts are critical for a successful renovation. Sailpix will be following the project.
