Viaporin Tuoppi is the biggest event for wooden boats in Europe. This year it was organized for the 33rd time. The sailing weather was light and partly cloudy. After most of the boats had arrived to the after sail party at the Suomenlinna island the worst thunderstorm of the whole summer struck the event, anyhow without causing any bigger damages. 80 photos and a short 2 minute video. Sinebrychoff Challenge had after many years a new defender of the trophy. MayBe VI had the previous year beated Sara af Hangö. First time in the new history of this race the qualification race could not be sailed before the lunch because of the fog. The race committee decided that the challenger will be the winner of a single race after the lunch. Sara af Hangö won that race and sailed in the final, but MayBe VI was able to defeat the title successfully. Photos are from the foggy morning,...

Second year for the Krångel Star Challenge organized by Ekenäs Segelsällskap (ESS). 10 boats sailed 9 races in excellent conditions with light to medium breeze. The Classic winner (over all 6th place) was Anders Hedman & Kustaa Lahtinen with Old Gipsy (FIN 4378) an Old Greenwich built boat from 1961. The over all winner was Stefan […]
Second year for the Krångel Star Challenge organized by Ekenäs Segelsällskap (ESS). 10 boats sailed 9 races in excellent conditions with light to medium breeze. The Classic winner (over all 6th place) was Anders Hedman & Kustaa Lahtinen with Old Gipsy (FIN 4378) an Old Greenwich built boat from 1961. The over all winner was Stefan Winqvist and Olle Tötterman (FIN 8073, Courage). 4 Classic boats participated. Special thanks to Ken Thilman for the boat ride during photographing.
