6mR Worlds 2019
After many years of waiting the sixes from around the world are back in Hanko, the southernmost city of Finland, for the 6mR World Championships 2019. This will be the page to follow for daily Sailpix photo and video feed from the event. Welcome to Hanko. Link to sailing RESULTS
Friday 9th of August – fifth day, but no racing because of no wind.

Thursday 8th of August – fourth race day with light to non-existing wind. First races started, but due to no wind sailing was abandoned.

Wednesday 7th of August – third day with stable wind between 5-8 m/s and the rain passed by further down in South. Two races were sailed.

Tuesday 6th of August – second day with cloudy sky and light 4 m/s wind in the morning. Later round noon sun was shining and wind increased to 8 m/s. Two races were sailed in different wind conditions.

Monday 5th of August – first day of the 6mR Worlds 2019. Two starts with medium to higher wind in sunny fresh weather followed by nice after sail in the event tent with some food, drinks sponsored by Sinebrychoff and drone videos on screen.

Sunday 4th of August started with a tune-up race for both moderns and classic. The lunch sponsored by Sinebrychoff was served at the Hanko Casino in the villa area. In the afternoon the defender of the Sinebrychoff trophy, NJK with yacht FIN-67 Djinn beat yesterdays winner of the challenger races, FIN-12 Fridolin direct 2-0.

Saturday 3rd of August was a day for the challenger races in the Sinebrychoff Challenge.

Friday 2nd of August was the second measurement day with busy crews checking their yachts in nice Finnish summer weather.

Thursday 1st of August was the first official day at the 6mR Worlds 2019. Registration of the yachts, measuring, rigging, polishing, fine tuning. Teams going training out on the race area and race committé training on the pier outside of the HSF (Hangö Segelförening) club house.

Wednesday 31st of July yachts are arriving on wheels and by sea and are being prepared for the Worlds.
