The last surf season never ended and the surfers have been able to surf on seawater or icesurfing through the whole winter. First signs of spring were seen on Sunday 8th of March when more than 20 enthusiastic kitesurfers were surfing at the Secret spot. Thanks to all cool women Rita de Kite and icemen Fredrik Dow, Marek Hintze, Tom Jungell and special thanks to, Jändo Mikkser, Jouni Lehtonen and Ken Nossenko for all the tricks. Winter Windsurfing Finnish Nationals and European Championship, sailed in Espoo at Soukanlahti. The weather was not the best possible, but at least there was ice and wind, which is the minimum requirement for racing. Results are available at the Event Facebook page.
Visited Peter Granström at Tammisaaren Veneveistämö for the third time to follow up with progress of restoration of the 6mR Renata. At the moment the hull looks like a skeleton, which is getting a new spine as the new keel stock and stem are being installed. A lot of caution is also set in restoring the original shape of the hull as it has changed during its long life since 1927. Last offshore race of the season 2014 in Finland. Name of the race "Karvalakki" means "fur hat", which you can recognize in many of the 133 photos taken during the warm and partly sunny day. Results.
Champion of Champions at NJK is an annual weekend event where the Finnish champions in different classes meet at the end of the season. This year the real big Champion is from the X-35 class - Anssi Lydén with his team Susanna Kukkonen, Timo Kari and Erik Mansner. The six best teams:

Last of the season 2014 Center Cup at NJK Match Racing Center. Forecasted strong wind of 12-14 m/s in the darkening Tuesday night attracted five teams to race in really cold 10 deg Celsius temperature. The gusty wind set its challenges and the teams had to do their best to master the tricky conditions.
Brändö Seglare organized the Finnish Championship for the 606 class and 29 boats were competing during the three day long race weekend. Although it was September already the wind was light and weather quite warm during the whole event. The Finnish Champions are Staffan Lindberg with Emil Nordlund from ÅSS.
