The funniest and greatest wooden boat event in Finland organized by Suomenlinnan Pursiseura. This year already the 31st time almost 200 yachts racing along the shores of Helsinki. The light wind and sunny weather guaranteed that people enjoyed both racing on the sea and after sail in the Suomenlinna harbour. Totally 246 photos, but anyhow couldn't get you all. At the moment the hull looks like a skeleton, which is getting a new spine as the new keel stock and stem are being installed. A lot of caution is also set in restoring the original shape of the hull as it has changed during its long life since 1927. The restoration of 6mR yacht Renata continues at Ekenäs Båtvarv. The hull has been measured with high precision and compared to the original drawings. Boat builder Peter Granström has now made the first parts of new wood from Touchwood BV in the Netherlands. These are the parts that form the lengthwise shape of the hull, so the precision and connection angles between the parts are critical for a successful renovation. Sailpix will be following the project. Second day at the 6mR class Finnish Championship, which was a part of the "Champagne Regatta" - Jacquart Baltic Classic Master Cup 2014 organized by HSS. The wind was light in the morning so the first race was delayed, but during the cloudy day the wind catched up and both races were sailed. Special congrats to the "new" 6mR crew on FIN-60 "Off Course" helmed by Heikki Pulsa for their first race win on "Off Course".
