The final day at the Hanko Regatta was sunny and windy. Because of the hard wind 6mR and 8mR classes did not sail on race course D at all on Sunday, so final results are based on Friday races only for 6mR and 8mR. 5m class results are based on results from Friday and Saturday. All other classes were out enjoying the sunny but demanding sailing conditions. The prestigeous Swan 60's in the Nord Stream Race leaving Helsinki after a weekend stopover. Weather cloudy, temperature around 15 deg. C and a nice 6-8 m/s tailwind helping the yachts to escape from the approaching eastern rain front. Thanks to Eero Lehtinen at windx.fi for the news feed and keeping Sailpix updated.
The traditional "WB Sails" race in the Finnish Offshore Ranking series with three races on windward/leeward race course. The Swan fleet consisting of 6 Swan 60's and 1 Swan 45 arrived this morning in Helsinki. The offshore race from St. Petersburg to Helsinki was finished in the night at 3:00 am after the race director decided to finish the race because of light wind. At 03:00 am the positions of the yachts were determined via the race tracker. The boat with the shortest distance to the lighthouse Helsinki Majakka, where the original finish was planned, won the race. Please, also visit the official Nord Stream Race...
First race in the Finnish offshore ranking 2014 series, Pro Sailor Race, was sailed under quite perfect weather conditions. The sun was shining and the eastern wind was warm and of ideal strength.
