Hanko Regatta 2016

The one and greatest Hanko Regatta was sailed on the second weekend of July in varying winds and some fog on Saturday morning. Almost 200 yachts in 17 different classes on 4 separate race areas during three days makes it a popular regatta for a hardcore sailor and for less serious holiday sailors as well. Viaporin Tuoppi 2015, SuPS

The funniest and greatest wooden boat event in Finland organized by Suomenlinnan Pursiseura. This year already the 31st time almost 200 yachts racing along the shores of Helsinki. The light wind and sunny weather guaranteed that people enjoyed both racing on the sea and after sail in the Suomenlinna harbour. Totally 246 photos, but anyhow couldn’t get you all. Sinebrychoff Challenge 2015, NJK

Sinebrychoff Challenge organized by NJK and sponsored by Sinebrychoff. Annual challenge race for 6mR yachts, where winner of the 3 morning races meets last years champion in one-on-one races in the afternoon. Again the last year winner “Sara af Hangö” was successful in defeating the championship with a 2-0 result against a new challenger, F46 Astree from HSS with Ossi Paija at helm. Congratulations to the winners Henrik Tenström, Markus Mannström, Sten Erik Molander, Manni Borg and Sebastian Blechingberg.

Hanko Regatta 2015

Once again Hanko and HSF showed the best sides of summer and sailing for the more than 200 boats attending the biggest annual sailing regatta in Finland. Helsinki Regatta 2015

Helsinki Regatta has already during 60 years been the top sailing event in Helsinki. It is nowadays organized by an association Helsinki Sail Racing Management (HSRM) which has the leading Helsinki based sailing clubs BS, HSK, HSS, HTPS, M, NJK and SPS as members. Restoration of 6mR Renata, part III

Visited Peter Granström at Tammisaaren Veneveistämö for the third time to follow up with progress of restoration of the 6mR Renata. At the moment the hull looks like a skeleton, which is getting a new spine as the new keel stock and stem are being installed. Restoration of 6mR Renata, part II

The restoration of 6mR yacht Renata continues at Ekenäs Båtvarv. The hull has been measured with high precision and compared to the original drawings. Boat builder Peter Granström has now made the first parts of new wood from Touchwood BV in the Netherlands. These are the parts that form the lengthwise shape of the hull, so the precision and connection angles between the parts are critical for a successful renovation. Sailpix will be following the project. The 30th Viaporin Tuoppi with many sail yachts outside of Helsinki in the biggest wooden yacht event in Nordic. The light wind and sunny weather guaranteed that people enjoyed both racing on the sea and after sail on land.
